I vincitori delle ultime due edizioni del Mercury Prize sono stati gli ‘Arctic Monkeys’ con il loro album d’esordio e i ‘Klaxons’ con “Myths Of The Near Future”. Questo dimostra come il premio assegnato al miglior album britannico dell’anno sia molto più attenbibile di molte altre competizioni del genere. Per questo motivo anche le nomination possono aiutare a conoscere le tendenze che la musica UK seguirà nel futuro prossimo.
